The UK Prime Minister Tony Blair said he sees no options for the country to join eurozone soon and promised the UK people will not change pound for euro if the Labour Party wins the elections.
He also added that the economy does not show optimistic signs towards joining the twelve countries that share euro. "If the economics aren’t right you don’t do it," Mr Blair said.
Mr. Blair also said he postponed the referendum on joining eurozone on sour signs from the economy.
Blair stressed that the course towards the euro brings no good for economical development of the nation with the high unemployment rate.
"Now, at the moment there is no part of business and industry clamouring to say we need this for our economy, so it doesn’t look very likely. On the other hand, things can always change and the sensible thing to do is keep your options open," he said.
The policy seems very likely as the Liberal Party shows the highest results in the polls before the elections.
