North Korea is a member of the Unites Nations and has the right to be treated as a sovereign state, according to the US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
’’They’re a member of the United Nations,’’ Rice said in an interview in Moscow with CNN television on Monday. ``We have no intention to attack or invade North Korea.’’
North Korea announced several times that it has nuclear weapons and faced sanctions from the UN, EU and US. The US, South Korea, China, Japan and Russia failed to hold negotiations about dismantling nuclear weapon program in North Korea which demands financial aid to feed its 8-million population.
``If North Korea did take such a step, that would just be another provocative act that would further isolate it from the international community,’’ said White House spokesman Scott McClellan on May 7 warning North Korea that a nuclear-weapons test would be considered a ``provocative act.’’
